Hi, I’m Laura — known in the community as Music Laura. I am an independent business based in Yorkshire, using music, song, movement, and connection to support wellbeing across all ages.I run music sessions for:• Stroke survivors• People living with dementia• SEN children & adults• Community groups
My core values are kindness, dignity and empowerment. At the heart of everything I do is a belief that every voice matters. Through music, I aim to nurture kindness, honour each person’s dignity, and empower people to express themselves with confidence and joy.

I use live music and singing to support confidence, connection, and emotional well-being.My Music for Wellbeing Sessions take place in Hull and the East Riding, or online.I work with:• Care home residents, including those living with dementia• Stroke survivors, offering gentle 1:1 singing and vocal rehabilitation support• Children and adults with SEN, through creative, engaging group and individual sessionsMy mission is simple: to bring joy, confidence, connection, and self-expression through music.

"My boy absolutely loves dancing and singing with Laura"
"Wow! An amazing musician with the gift of understanding those with additional needs - she lights up the room and engages our unique kids in an instant! "
"Laura brings vibrancy and enthusiasm with her when she runs music therapy sessions with my son and other adults with SEN. From the moment she bursts through the door, her ‘light’ lifts the whole room to another plane. Laura is so articulate. Her understanding and patience permeates throughout the session. My son leaves with a smile and taps a rhythm on his knee driving home."
You know that feeling when a song comes on and it hits you right in the heart? Maybe it takes you back to a moment, a person, or a version of yourself you’d forgotten. That’s the power of music — it connects us, lifts us, and reminds us who we are.I see it every day. A familiar tune can bring a smile to someone with dementia, a simple rhythm can help a stroke survivor find their voice again, and a shared song can turn a quiet room into a community. Music heals. It connects. It empowers. And it’s not just a feeling — it’s science. Research shows that music can reduce stress, improve memory, boost mood, and even help the brain form new pathways after injury. It’s one of the most natural, accessible, and joyful tools we have for wellbeing. This is why I do what I do!Music for wellbeing in Hull and the Eastriding, with me, Music Laura.

During lockdown in 2020, when I couldn’t visit my usual clients, I still wanted to bring people together through music. So I started going live on YouTube every weekday — singing, chatting, and sharing songs to lift people’s spirits. What began as a small way to stay connected quickly grew into a little online community — a place where people could sing along, smile, and feel a bit less alone during uncertain times. Those sessions became Music Laura — and I’ve continued sharing music ever since.
